Welcome to Giggre. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including: full name, email address, phone number, profile photo, government-issued ID and skill certificates (for verification), location data (when posting or accepting gigs), and payment-related information. We also automatically collect device information (device type, OS version, unique device identifiers), usage data (screens visited, features used), and IP address.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) match Gig Workers with Gig Hosts based on location and skills; (c) process and confirm payments; (d) send you notifications about gigs, calls, and platform updates; (e) verify your identity and credentials; (f) improve App performance and user experience; (g) detect and prevent fraud or abuse; (h) comply with legal obligations.
Location Data
Giggre collects your precise GPS location when you use location-dependent features such as posting a gig, searching for nearby gigs, or tracking an active gig. Location data is used solely to facilitate gig matching and navigation. You can disable location access in your device settings, but this will limit your ability to use core App features. We do not sell your location data to third parties.
Sharing of Information
We may share your information with: (a) other users — your name, profile photo, and ratings are visible to relevant Hosts or Workers during a gig transaction; (b) service providers — trusted third parties (e.g., Firebase, Agora) who assist us in operating the App; (c) law enforcement — when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records). Gig history may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure Firebase infrastructure, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to protect your account credentials.
Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate or incomplete data; (c) request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"); (d) withdraw consent for data processing at any time; (e) data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. Children's Privacy
Giggre is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a user under 18 has registered, we will promptly delete their account and associated data. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us immediately.
Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services including Firebase (Google LLC) for database, authentication, and storage; Agora for real-time audio and video calls; and Google Maps for location services. These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through our App.
Cookies and Tracking
The Giggre mobile app does not use browser cookies. We may use analytics tools to collect anonymized usage statistics to improve the App. These tools may assign anonymous identifiers to your device. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through an in-app notification or by email. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
